Google Posts

Update/Offer/Event posts, CTA, scheduling, and the rules.

Updated:

Google Posts are short updates that appear on your profile and in Maps/Search results. Posting regularly is an activity/freshness signal, and the SEO Audit rewards post volume, regularity, and offer posts. They're created from the Posts screen.

Creating a post

  1. On the Posts screen, open New Post (or an audit "Fix" link brings you here).
  2. Pick a type, write the text or generate with AI (you give a topic; the AI quota is daily, per business).
  3. Optionally attach an image/video (a geotag can be applied on upload).
  4. Choose a call-to-action button: Book, Order, Shop, Learn more, Sign up, Call.
  5. Publish now, save as draft, or schedule with a business-local date/time.

Google rules: text ≤1500 characters, no phone numbers (Google rejects them), video ≤30 seconds / 720p. Localghost validates these for you.

Scheduling and multi-location

Scheduling is computed in the business's timezone: even if you manage from London, setting "14:30" for an Istanbul branch publishes at 14:30 (the branch's time). When you send the same post to multiple businesses, each is scheduled by its own timezone.

Publishing states

Card states: Draft, Scheduled, Publishing, Published, Failed. Google may return "publishing" (PROCESSING); the state is shown honestly. On failure a human-readable error appears on the card. You can pull existing Google posts with Sync.

Why it affects ranking

At least 3 regular posts per month (especially offers/events in between) keep the profile active; the audit rewards this regularity with a momentum multiplier. If you already post on Instagram, you can produce fresh content effortlessly with Instagram to Google.
