Team & roles

Inviting members, roles, permission overrides, ownership transfer, and seat limits.

Updated:

Localghost lets you manage a workspace with multiple people using role-based access — especially for agencies and multi-location businesses. Team management is on the Settings → Team page.

Inviting members

  1. On the Members page, open Invite Member.
  2. Enter an email and choose a role: ADMIN, EDITOR, or VIEWER (OWNER can't be assigned by invite).
  3. Optionally add per-permission overrides — toggle specific permissions on top of the role default.

The invite link is generated with a secure (256-bit) token. Pending/accepted/declined/expired invitations show in the list.

Roles

There are four roles: OWNER, ADMIN, EDITOR, VIEWER. Each role has defaults across 20 permission keys in 10 groups (view/manage). For the full matrix: Roles and permissions.

In short: OWNER does everything; ADMIN nearly everything except billing; EDITOR manages content/reviews/tasks but can't touch settings/billing/business-deletion; VIEWER is read-only.

Member management

  • Edit a member's role/permissions (PATCH), remove a member.
  • Transfer ownership — confirm by typing the target person's email.
  • You can't edit your own role/permissions; the OWNER row is read-only.

Seat limit

The number of members you can add is capped by your plan's maxUsers allowance; pending invitations count toward the seat total too.

Why it matters

Agencies can manage many businesses with least-privilege: content team as EDITOR, client as VIEWER, billing only on OWNER. This enables safe operation at scale.
