GeoTag tool

Embed GPS/EXIF metadata into photos in the browser (an honest framing).

Updated:

The GeoTag tool embeds EXIF metadata (GPS location + business name/title/keywords) into a JPEG photo, entirely in the browser. It runs from the GeoTag screen; image processing happens in your browser — the raw image isn't sent to a server.

How to use it

  1. On the GeoTag screen, upload a JPEG.
  2. Enter latitude/longitude, or use "Get business location" to auto-fill your business's coordinates.
  3. Optional EXIF fields: author (defaults to business name), title, subject, rating, keywords, description.
  4. "Process EXIF data" → then Download to your computer or Upload to business (sends it to the business gallery).

An honest framing — don't treat this as a ranking hack

Google states plainly that it does not use photo EXIF geotags in local ranking. This tool is a *metadata-hygiene* tool for consistency of location/brand metadata, not a guaranteed ranking boost. That's also why it does NOT add fabricated camera make/model or capture dates — to avoid misleading declarations on your profile, only real coordinates + business metadata are embedded.

What it's good for

  • Adds consistent business coordinates + name/keyword metadata to your photos before uploading.
  • Some local-SEO workflows use it for consistency of location signals.
  • You can download the processed file and reuse it elsewhere (site, directories) with the same metadata.

Note: the normal photo upload flow can auto-geotag an image if the business has coordinates; the GeoTag tool is a separate surface for doing this manually and in detail.
