Introduction
What Localghost is, who it's for, and how the docs are organized.
Localghost is a local SEO platform for managing your Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) from a single panel and climbing the local rankings on Google Maps. This documentation does two things at once: it walks through every module of the product step by step and it is a local SEO guide that shows you how to use each module to stand out.
Who it is for
- Business owners β cafΓ©s, clinics, salons, auto shops, hotels, and shops managing their own profile.
- Multi-location & chains β businesses running dozens of locations from one workspace.
- Agencies β marketing teams managing many clients' profiles with role-based team access.
How it works
Localghost connects your Google Business Profile account through secure OAuth and syncs your profile, reviews, posts, photos, performance metrics, and keywords into the panel. Edits you make here (description, hours, services, posts, review repliesβ¦) are written to the real Google Business Profile β Localghost is a single control center that replaces Google's own dashboard.
Almost every feature operates on a selected business. If you manage more than one, pick the active business from the top menu and every module shows that business's data.
Before you start
All you need to continue is:
- A Localghost account (the free trial, no credit card required, is enough).
- A verified Google Business Profile you manage.
If your profile is not verified by Google, photos you upload and some edits will not publish to Google. Verification is Google's own process; Localghost cannot do it for you, but it surfaces the status in the panel.
First steps
We recommend this order:
- Connect your Google Business Profile β get your data flowing into the panel.
- Choose the right category β the strongest relevance lever.
- Get NAP consistency right β the foundation of Google's trust in your business.
- Apply the ranking techniques β complete the profile, manage reviews, publish regularly, measure.
How the docs are organized
The left menu follows the product's logical groups:
- Getting started β account, connecting, panel tour.
- Local SEO Guide β how ranking works, NAP, categories, keywords, techniques.
- Profile & Content β profile info, photos, posts, offers, Instagram, website, schema.
- Review Management β replying, AI suggestions, auto-reply, QR collection.
- Measure & Rank β Grid Scan, Competitors, Citations, Statistics, SEO Audit, Tasks.
- AI β Ghost AI and its modules.
- Account & Team β subscription, team members, roles, notifications.
- Reference β limits, permission matrix, glossary, troubleshooting.
Every article is grounded in real product behavior β not marketing, but exactly what the panel does.
