Competitor analysis

Grid-derived rival movements + weekly deep analysis and comparison.

Updated:

Competitor analysis shows the businesses actually outranking you in your area and what they're doing over time. The Competitors screen is read-only — you don't pick rivals; the system finds the strongest ones from your grid scans.

Two layers

  • Layer A — Movements (free): derived from your Grid Scan history (no extra cost). It compares two date buckets and reports each rival's rank / rating / review change (delta): who climbed, who dropped, who's ahead of you. Your own rank and delta are shown too.
  • Layer B — Deep analysis (weekly): the system fetches the full profile of the strongest 2 rivals and writes an AI analysis for each. This is the expensive part, so it's capped at 2 and runs weekly (for paying/trialing subscriptions + locations that already have a completed grid scan).

Comparison against your own metrics

The screen puts your measured values side by side with the competitor average: average rating, review count, reply rate (last 20), photo count. So you see the concrete gap to close (usually review count, reply rate, or photos).

Competitor data is fed from grid scans → to see the page populated you must have run a Grid Scan first. Permission: competitors.view.

Why it matters

Competitor analysis answers "who is beating me across the area (by ATRP, not at one point) and what are they doing". The movement table shows rivals' momentum (rank climbing, review accumulation); the comparison panel isolates which signal you're behind on.
