EXIF text fields, filled in
Author, title, subject, a 0–5 rating and tags are written into the JPEG metadata too, so the file carries proper descriptive fields, not just coordinates.

A supportive local detail — not a ranking hack
Before → after, honestly
A photo with no location becomes one that carries it. It's a small, supportive detail in local content — independent tests show no consistent ranking effect, so we don't promise one.
How it works
Upload a JPEG
Add the photo you want to tag and preview it. Everything runs in your browser.
Set location & fields
Fetch your business coordinates (or type them), fill the EXIF text fields, then process the image.
Download or upload
Get the geotagged file back on your computer, or send it straight to your business media library.
Frequently asked questions
What is geotagging?
Geotagging writes GPS coordinates into a photo's EXIF metadata — the same location field a camera records automatically. It simply notes the place an image is associated with.
Will geotagging improve my Google ranking?
We don't promise that. Independent tests have found no consistent effect, and most platforms strip EXIF data from uploaded images anyway. Treat geotagging as a supportive part of a local content workflow — and know that using real photos of your own premises matters more.
Are my photos uploaded to tag them?
No. The tagging runs entirely in your browser using the file on your device — nothing is sent to a server to be processed. The only time a file leaves your device is the optional ‘Upload to Business’ step, which sends the finished image to your profile.
Which formats can I tag?
JPEG and JPG images. EXIF processing only applies to JPEGs, so that's the format the tool accepts; other formats aren't tagged.
Do I get the tagged file back?
Yes. You download the geotagged image as a file, ready to upload to your Google Business Profile or add to the media library.
How does GeoTag relate to the photo library?
GeoTag prepares an image before upload; the media library manages and publishes it. Tag first, then add the file to your library or publish it to your profile.
